As a B&B, our reputation is clearly based on our ability to deliver on the two Bs – creating an environment for a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed and providing a memorable breakfast.

Our aim at breakfast is to offer an excellent choice of quality seasonal foods and pretty much everything is sourced locally, apart from the cheese, which actually comes all the way from the Snowdonia Cheese Company - our current top tips are their Lancashire Bomb and Cranberry Cheddar.

Everything else comes from Cambridge or nearby. We have several favourite places to shop for local produce including Cambridge’s excellent market, where we buy our free range eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and fruit - our autumn choices were figs and golden plums whilst the fruit compote was local apple and blackberry.  Now as Spring approaches, it’s Rhubarb compote.

Our apple juice is made by Watergull Orchards from apples grown and pressed in Cambridge, the yoghurt and butter is organic, as are the breads and granolas, which are supplied by local baker, Cob’s, and our jams and preserves are made at Darwin Nurseries, just up Newmarket Road.

The award winning sausages and bacon are from Clarks of Ware and our salmon is cured by the nationally acclaimed River Farm Smokery in Bottisham which also supplies Midsummer House restaurant here in Cambridge.

We’re delighted that our suppliers take a keen interest in what we are doing by asking for guest feedback but, like you, all they need do is read the reviews on TripAdvisor to see how much our guests like the Bs we put in B&B.
